Women Empowerment Fund (WEF):

The NEF Women Empowerment Fund is aimed at accelerating the provision of funding to businesses owned by black women. The funding starts from R250 000 to R75 million across a range of sectors, for start-ups, expansions, and equity acquisition purposes. This fund is accessible to South Africans.

Industrial Development Corporation (IDC):

A national development finance institution established in 1940 to promote economic growth and industrial development, the IDC provides niche and innovative funding products aimed at enhancing and growing South Africa’s industrial capabilities and, by extension, the rest of the African continent. This funding is accessible to South Africans. They provide access to funding across multiple industry sectors.

Savannah Fund:

Savannah Fund is a Seed Capital Fund specializing in US$50,000-US$1,000,000 investments in early-stage high growth technology start-ups in sub-Saharan Africa. Initially focused on East Africa, the fund aims to bridge the early stage/angel and venture capital investment gap that currently exists in Africa. The Fund expects to achieve this objective by combining capital with mentor networks and local technical assistance both in the region and Silicon Valley. This fund is accessible to countries in the Sub-Saharan Africa region.

IDF Capital:

Vumela was established in 2009 by FNB Business Banking and Edge Growth. The objective was to create an innovative model for the development of a sustainable and a financially and operationally independent investment business which invests in high growth small, medium, and micro size enterprises with good economic and impact returns. This funding is accessible to South Africans.
