The International Water Association (IWA) is calling for nominations for the Gender Diversity and Water Award to recognise individuals for their outstanding professional contribution to the advancement of gender diversity supporting both equity and wider impactful change in the water sector.
This award recognises the contribution of an individual (rather than an organisation or project). Nominees and those making nominations do not need to be members of IWA.
Nominations for the award will be judged on the basis of the following criteria:
- Impact – Nominations should clearly demonstrate the impact of the nominee on the advancement of gender diversity (e.g., number of people, scale of transformation), achieved in connection with relevant policies, programmes or other activities.
- Accessibility – Nominations should indicate the extent to which these activities are accessible and open to all women within the institution or group concerned.
- Innovation – Nominations should also highlight any evidence and demonstration of new ideas, initiatives or practices that have not been implemented before.
Based on the above details, a review panel will make a preliminary assessment of all submissions and develop a shortlist of nominees. Shortlisted nominees will be contacted for them to provide a more detailed submission.
The call for nominations closes 6 May 2022.
