Africa No Filter Fellowship for African media professionals

Applications are invited for a media grant by Africa No Filter aimed exclusively at women storytellers and women-owned media organisations and outlets. Africa No Filter (ANF) is a donor collaborative that supports the development of nuanced and contemporary stories that shift stereotypical and harmful narratives within and about Africa.The latest media grant by Africa No Filter will only fund women storytellers.

All applicants should have a track record of creating work that challenges stereotypical narratives of Africa through innovative, creative and compelling storytelling.

Journalists, bloggers, vloggers, content creators, and podcasters can apply for Project Support grants worth up to $10,000 while organizations can apply for Operational Support and Capacity-Building grants of up to $25,000.

Eligibility Criteria For organizations:

  • The organization must be African and led by a woman;
  • have been in operation for more than one year;
  • be used to working with African storytellers and content creators;
  • The proposed project should focus on multiplying narratives and stories that reflect a more diverse and vibrant continent;
  • African organizations in the diaspora can also apply

Eligibility Criteria For individuals:

  • be an African woman;
  • Have created content and stories that reflect a more diverse and vibrant continent for over a year;
  • The proposed project should focus on multiplying narratives and stories that reflect a more diverse and vibrant continent;
  • African women in the diaspora can apply.
